going batty

i am standing at my window, looking down at the sapodilla tree next door

 when he swoops in

i notice black wings flapping in all the trees next door

 hanging very contently

feeding themselves

then spreading open their wings, away they go again.

WOW! WOW! We stand at our door hoping to see butterflies and sweet birds...bats, though, two of them, swoop overhead every night in the summer, as the sun sets on my walks. Bt, I never see them like this, or in daylight!! Wow! Looks like Halloween to me! Hope your day stays exciting, hugs, kath

That would freak me out. We have a flock of bats at our zoo in an area called the Jungle here in Kansas in the U.S. They too freak me out because they are freely hanging from the vines and ceiling.

Yikes, I don't love bats. I remember, once, visiting Carlsbad Caverns, I think it was in New Mexico when, at sunset, hundreds of them came flying out of the caves at the same time. I thought I would die of fright.

Great pictures.
