As the day of starting work looms nearer,
I have been really debating with myself about taking the next rung
on the career ladder.
I am an educator and I love working with children
and helping schools to be better places of learning.
But I want to do more
and right now, I dont feel like I can do what I want,
I feel constricted in the place where I am at
and office politics does my head right in.
So, I have been looking at job opportnities elsewhere
and appealing as many of them may seem,
I keep thinking that it would be a very selfish thing
to have my family relocate
just to get to do what I want.

A friend once told me, Be true to yourself.
You'll do the right thing.
not selfish at all.....we relocated more then 10 times with my husband's jobs and loved the adventure every time....xo
Sometimes I think that what mothers experience can be a microcosm, a symptom, of something happening beneath the surface in a family. If you are feeling constricted, maybe the universe is working through you to effect change in your family. (Affect change? I can never remember which one it is!)
So I would say it would be the opposite of selfish :-)
I think when one follows their true self, all benefit.
You can also look at it as an adventure! If you find the right location and you're all still together, not so selfish at all!
are you balancing in your own mine only?
Did you speak of this (these) opportunity(ies) with your family?
Does it mean different life ?
It can also be a rich experiment for all...
Ability to make new habits, new friends, discovering differentpoint of view... i received this.
It can be uneasy for new pupils to take place in a village school, were all frienship are made yet, and they are the stranger. I often see the new pupils coming friends together- for they can not play with local children, they recognize the same experiment ?
But if you try to have more responsabilities, i suppose that you would change for a town, were this problem is not so big.
Kamana, I have a quote that speaks so perfectly to this, but since I am on vacation I don't have access to it. Something about instead of being selfish, in fact the most selfless thing you can do for others is to be true to yourself. Can't remember who said it either, but you can get the jist!!
