Learning from the slow loris

“Slow down and enjoy life.
It's not only the scenery you miss by going to fast -
you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.”
~Eddie Cantor~

Have you ever seen a slow loris move?

True to their name, they are so, so slow.

Incredibly shy.

But,

strangely,

loves being tickled.

I have never seen one of these cute creatures. Are they native to your homeland, Kamana?

Carmen - No these don't live here. I got some shots when I was in Malaysia in June, and the video from Youtube.

I love this! I really like that quote, too. I enjoyed slowing down all summer long. Aaaah.

That is too wonderfully cute. What a sweet animal!

I have to come back, tomorrow, when the boys are awake. They HAVE to see this!

Great image! I love hose critters but they are the toughest and shyest animals when it comes to understand their behaviour in nature! I study their other south Asian cousin slender loris who has some of the most complex society:-)

My only hope is that one day people will stop buying endangered animals like slow loris for pets. Pet trade of such animals can cause problems to their wild population since they are always caught in the wild and brought in the market for sale! I study slender loris which is the closest relative of this species and both species are endangered in the wild-:(
