Indulgence

The satisfying richness of fudgy brownies

The fragrance of these kalhuhuthu meyva

And the sweetness of their soft ripe flesh
***
Sorry folks, I do not know any other name for the kalhuhuthu meyva. It is a bit like a custard apple, but the flesh is satin smooth. The seeds are toxic, but the flesh is just heavenly, both the taste and smell. I like to just eat the flesh as it is, spitting out the seeds as I eat; or to remove the seeds and blend the flesh with water to make the most glorious drink.

Fudge brownies for me - mmm - look delicious - I bet they don't last very long. They certainly wouldn't around my children :)

Everyone seems to be favouring the brownies, I can understand that, but the fruit looks really interesting and is completely new to me, I wouldn't mind a taste.

I've never seen that fruit either, but there's something about trying a fruit or vegetable you've never had before (or even heard of)...all your senses come alive trying to take it in. It can't be explained in terms of it's "ingredients" so you're left trying to make comparisons or pin down it's very essence.

As for brownies, YUM.

I blog here.
The exotic fruit looks so familiar, I grew up in the tropics, SE Asia. I will check it out.

I can make a brownie any old day...but I may never get a chance to taste that kalhuhuthu meyva in my lifetime and will only be able to imagine its taste with your photo and description...I would love to try it someday!

Mmm sounds delicious! I have only had custard apples once but loved them-I could not believe a fruit could taste and look like that.
