Market Stalls and Women

Whether it was a roadside fruit stall,
Or a fishmonger,
Or the bustling markets,
women seemed to dominate the area.
Women were the sellers.
Always.
And also the most frequent buyers.
Always clad in conservative muslim clothing.
A ready smile on their faces.
Made me wonder where all the men were.

Interesting. Women in conservative, modest Muslim garb allowed to work, as long as the work enhances the sphere of domesticity and women's place.

I would venture to say that women are the backbone of all communities...I love these market photos!

I love markets, and this one looks so traditional.

Well, women seem to take care of the world really. Men may oftentimes think they do. (But we all know they don't...)

I loved scrolling through all of the latests posts! I love the kid art in the more recent posts, so great! But I stopped here to enjoy the cultural event of the colorful marketplace. I love the colors and seeing the women working together.
I also wanted to thank you for your continued support on my blog. I treasure your continued comments, and appreciate your patience with my slower pace of posting and commenting these days.
be well!
