Under the shade of this tree
Row after row of gravestones
Aged, moss covered, yet still standing
All that remains of fallen heroes

And kings and queens of yesteryear.

The historic building in the background

With its traditional water well in the courtyard

A landmark. A celebrated monument.

Surrounded by lush greenery

And these fragrant pink blooms

A beautiful mostly gray walk after a riotously coloured last week!
Love this walk...pure poetry!
What a lovely peaceful wander... Beautiful!
Thank you for taking us on a walk. Beautiful and serene.
Love the gravestones - what a wonderful morning walk.
We have a monumental desire to commemorate those no longer with us. The headstones are beautiful and contain so much longing and love.
Oh, my! Look at how much I missed since purple friday! The white and brown days...great idea!! The pigeons and the grave markers make a lovely combined grey day. Your pictures tell such great stories. :)
Reflective pics -- what an appropriate way to take note of those who have gone before, especially this past weekend.
Wow, what a gorgeous walk you had! Those flowers are so pretty, too.
A beautiful walk, ending with those gorgeous pink flowers! Love it!

I love walking through cemetaries. This one looks pretty crowded! I bet the headstones were interesting to read.
I always find cemeteries intriguing. In your set of pictures I like the contrast of the greyness with the beautiful vivid pinks. PS Thank you for your birthday wishes!
the gray and the colors work so well together ~the mood is light and airy ...though serious and quiet.
such a nice series of images
beautiful shots - what a wonderful cemetary to wander through - so much history.
wow, they're so close together. neat photos.
I've never seen tombstones placed so close together. Looks almost like the soldiers lined up.
